Adobe and Microsoft to cooperate in security programme
In the future, Microsoft and Adobe will collaborate as part of the Microsoft Active Protections Program (MAPP) to provide information to security vendors on the safety of Adobe's products. The two companies announced the plan during the Black Hat 2010 conference, currently being held in Las Vegas.
At present, sixty five manufacturers of security products who are members of MAPP receive advance information about security vulnerabilities so that they can build appropriate safeguards into their products. From this autumn, Adobe will actively participate in the programme, providing technical guidance in advance of company updates. Adobe's security chief, Brad Arkin said the move is a reaction to the fact that Adobe products are attracting "increasing attention from attackers".
