Groovy - Groovy, the dynamic language for the Java platform, has seen a simultaneous release of Groovy 1.5.7, which fixes 51 bugs in the stable version, and of Groovy 1.6 beta 2, the next major version of the Groovy language. The new beta of Groovy adds multiple assignments, a shorter style for if/then statements, new capabilities to hook into and extend the Groovy language itself and a preview of Grape, a new packaging engine for Groovy. Groovy is available under the Apache licence.

Google Glog - Google announced the availability of Google Glog, a logging library for C++ under the new BSD licence. The library has been in use within Google and supports a range of Unix like platforms.

ipaddr.py - Google also released ipaddr.py, a Python module for handling IP addresses, to make development of IPV6 aware Python applications easier. Again, this was another internal Google tool, released under an open source licence, in this case the Apache Licence 2.0.
