Red Hat has announced the release of beta versions of both JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 6 and JBoss Developer Studio 5.

The beta of JBoss EAP 6 is based on JBoss Application Server 7 which now comes with full support forJava Enterprise Edition 6. According to Red Hat, the new release of EAP has been designed in such a way that it now also supports private as well as public cloud deployments. In particular, the management functions of JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 6 have been improved and the system supports integration of frameworks such as Spring, Struts and Google Web Toolkit. Third-party development tools such as Maven, Hudson, Arquillian and Hibernate are also supported.

JBoss Developer Studio 5 is an Eclipse-based IDE that is specifically designed to work with the new EAP release and as such is also available in a new beta version.
