Version 0.9 of the open source financial analytics software OpenGamma is now available to download. The application, which is written in Java, is aimed at financial services companies. It queries data from a number of sources, such as Bloomberg and Thompson Reuters, and uses it to generate risk analyses and other reports.

Version 0.9 includes a revamped user interface and expanded documentation, aimed at making it easier for users to get started with the product. There is also a new option for generating snapshots of current market data, which can later be used for rapid decision making.

OpenGamma, which runs under Linux, Mac OS X and Windows, requires a database server such as PostgreSQL and a middleware package such as ActiveMQ or RabbitMQ. Hardware requirements include at least 8 GB of RAM and a quad-core processor. The source code is made available under the terms of the Apache Licence, v2.0
