Akademy logo The host for Akademy 2013 has been announced: the next KDE conference will take place in Bilbao, a city in the Basque Region of northern Spain. Organised by the KDE Community, Akademy is the KDE project's annual summit, which brings together community members, contributors and developers from around the world. The 2013 event will take place from 13 to 19 July across two venues.

The two-day conference on 13 and 14 July will be held at La Alhóndiga, a multi-purpose venue that was originally a wine warehouse, and will include various presentations on the latest KDE developments. The main conference will be followed by five days of workshops, and hacking, coding and Birds of a Feather (BoF) sessions at the Engineering School of Bilbao.

An interview with Dani Gutiérrez Porset, the local team coordinator for Akademy 2013, about the event's venues and the region itself is available on KDE.news. Users can follow @Akademy on Twitter for additional information and updates on the upcoming conference. Akademy 2012 took place earlier this year in Tallinn, Estonia.
