Eric Lippert, Principal Developer on the C# compiler at Microsoft, has joined software vendor Coverity. The company is known for software analysis and testing tools and probably best known to The H readers for its Open Source Report. Lippert had became well known in the C# developer community through his blogging on MSDN. Lippert was also a member of the design team for the C# language, which was developed as part of Microsoft's .NET initiative.

According to Coverity, Lippert will be responsible for broadening the company's experience with C#, leading a team to improve their analysis tools for the C# compiler. "His deep history and expertise with C# will allow Coverity to further expand our static analysis capabilities in this area and others", said Coverity's Senior Vice President of Research and Development Andreas Kuehlmann. Lippert will continue to write about C# on his new blog, "Fabulous Adventures in Coding".
