Digital certificates
Digital certificates are used to open Web pages via an encrypted connection; such connections are identified through their URL, which starts with https:. This may be the Web server of a bank for online banking or an online shop. Since very sensitive, confidential information such as credit card details, PINs and TANs is transferred, users should check the certificate's validity and enable the respective options in Internet Explorer.
