One year after his arrest, a Moroccan court has sentenced the 19 year old author of the Zotob worm to two years' imprisonment. The Moroccan, known by his pseudonym "Diabl0", is being made answerable for his role in the construction of Bot nets, the US media reports. A 22-year-old friend of Diabl0 has to serve a year in jail. Just what penalty awaits the turkish hacker known as "Coder", to whom Diabl0 sold the Zotob code, is still unclear.

Zotob exploits a hole in Window's plug-and-play service to spread itself. It can only attack unpatched Windows 2000 systems, which are still frequently used in corporate settings. This allowed the worm to infest computers from CNN, the New York Times and DaimlerChrysler.
