Windows 7 Patch Tuesday security udpates break VMware software
Two Windows 7 security patches from this month's Patch Tuesday are reported to prevent VMware's View desktop virtualistation client from accessing the View Connection Server. According to a VMware Knowledge Base article, users that have installed either one or both of patches (Article ID 2482017, 2467023) are affected.
Build 353760 (login required) of the VMware View Client addresses the issues caused by the updates. Alternatively, users that can't immediately update, such as those in some corporate environments, are advised that uninstalling the patches should fix the issue as well, although doing so will leave their systems vulnerable.
