Updates for SeaMonkey and Camino

As usual, following the Firefox updates, updates for SeaMonkey and Camino have also been released. Both share the Gecko website rendering engine with Firefox. The Mac OS browser Camino version number increments to 1.0.3. The most important change is the updating of Gecko to version 1.8.0.7., which involves plugging a number of security holes. On top of this, the update includes a few cosmetic changes and the latest Java embedding plugin.

For SeaMonkey, the successor to the Mozilla suite consisting of browser, mail client and web editor, the version number increments to 1.0.5. The program incorporates significant innovations from the Firefox update and from the new version of the Thunderbird mail client, also released yesterday. The Mozilla Foundation has now also published the list of changes in versions 1.5.0.7 of Firefox and Thunderbird. Both applications are now more resistant to fake RSA signatures and auto updates and a number of JavaScript vulnerabilities have been plugged, including vulnerabilities affecting regular printouts. A number of bugs which can cause the program to crash have also been fixed. In addition, Firefox should offer better protection from cross-site scripting.
