Adobe confirmed that, in future, its Flash Player for Linux will only be available through Google's Chrome web browser. The VideoLAN project published a major update, version 2.0, to its popular VLC Media Player and Linux Mint lead developer Clement Lefebvre released an updated version of the Cinnamon desktop environment. Canonical announced Ubuntu for Android, which will see the Linux distribution run from docked smartphones, and a portal for pornographic material was hacked, exposing its user database.
