Security specialist Finjan to offer cloud products

Finjan's new Vital Cloud and Vital Cloud Hybrid products are aimed at providing web computing security to Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) and businesses with premises in remote locations. Crucial in this respect is that sensitive data is stored within the corporate network rather than the cloud, as required, for example, by IT Compliance guidelines and regulations. Vital Cloud extends Finjan's Unified Web Security package to include a component that connects to Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2).

The combined security packages reportedly protect company employees wherever they work against malicious attacks and viruses. Administrators can use the Vital Cloud central console for controlling and monitoring the remote devices as well as virus scanners. Vital Cloud Hybrid provides the transition from on-premise web security to web security in the cloud. Finjan's products are based on a proprietary, patented analytical process that checks the data during transmission. If necessary, within minutes administrators can add additional web scanners .
