The International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, or (ISC)², has announced that it will offer up to two scholarships each year specifically for women to study information security. The scholarships are worth up to $40,000 in total, and are intended for undergraduate or graduate applicants. The recipients will also receive vouchers for the CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner) certification exams. The scheme is intended to "inspire women to join the ever growing field of Information Security".

Founded in 1988, the (ISC)² specialises in providing education programs and certification for information security professionals in over 135 countries. The new scholarships are part of a general expansion of the consortium's scholarship scheme. In the past it has focused on graduate and post-graduate scholarships but has now added undergraduate grants of up to $5,000 each.
