SAP buys security specialist Secude

Business management software specialist the SAP Group has purchased the Swiss company SECUDE business for an undisclosed sum. With the deal, SAP acquires the SECUDE security product portfolio, including Secure Login, Secure Sign On, Secure Mail / Secure File Manager and Secure Trust. Secude staff in the areas of development, quality control and product management will become part of the SAP workforce.

In a press release (German language), SECUDE says it intends to continue working in the field of Data Protection and Data Encryption. SECUDE has its headquarters in Emmetten in the Swiss canton of Nidwalden, and has about 150 employees. SECUDE was founded in 1996 as a joint effort between SAP and the Fraunhofer Institute.
