Opera 12.12 fixes stability and security problems
Version 12.12 of the Opera browser has been released, fixing several stability issues and closing security holes in the browser. Notably, a bug that allowed an attacker to have the browser execute code by hiding it in a specially prepared GIF file has been fixed. Another problem that has been resolved caused the browser to not display the interface correctly on start up after being shut down in full screen mode.
A delete option for data belonging to browser extensions has been added in the update, but is disabled by default. This is due to the problem that, in several cases, Opera 12.11 deleted the extensions themselves when this option was invoked. The developers say that this has now been fixed.
Opera is available for download for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
