Version 5.2 of the Offline-Update combines update packages to update any number of target PCs and will also, if desired, install the new Internet Explorer.

Version 5.2 of the Offline-Update script collection is available to download from the project pages on The H. The scripts load all the current security updates for Microsoft operating systems and Office products directly from the vendor's servers and wrap them up in patch packages. A combined patch package can be started from a DVD or USB stick and used to update, for example, several newly installed PCs with the current security patches, without having to download the updates repeatedly for each machine.

If desired the new Offline-Update version 5.2 can install the new Internet Explorer 8 on target PCs. Developer Torsten Wittrock also fixed minor bugs, as documented in the change log on the project's web page. A feature article on The H explains what to do with the scripts.
