Newscoop Logo Sourcefabric has released version 3.5.2 of Newscoop, its open source multi-lingual content management system (CMS), formerly known as Campsite. According to the developers, the second point update to version 3.5 of Newscoop is a maintenance release that addresses several security and stability problems.

Newscoop 3.5.2 adds a new plug-in that provides reCAPTCHA service support and features various improvements to, for example, the dashboard and article edit screen; support for uploading multiple files to the Media Archive has also been added. Aimed at journalists who have their own blog, a new template called "The Journalist" that is said to build on a classic WordPress design is also included.

In total, the update addresses more than 60 bugs found in the previous version, some of which to relate to improving security, such as fixes for an information disclosure bug and a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability. All users are strongly advised to upgrade.

More details about the update can be found in the release notes, in the change log and on the Newscoop overview page. Newscoop 3.5.2 is available to download from the project's site. Newscoop source code is hosted in Sourceforge.net and is released under version 3 of the GNU General Public License.
