Google has issued a new beta release of Chrome, its new browser. Version 0.4.154.22 now has a Bookmark Manager, a function Chrome previously lacked, which can be invoked with Control-Shift-B. Google has also has brought all of the privacy settings together, and has reworked the pop-up blocker.

A potential security problem has also been eliminated. Until now, local HTML files were able to use XMLHttpRequest to move data to or from the internet, something attackers were able to exploit in order to steal data. Google has now put an end to this. Google's Chromium Developer Documentation gives a complete overview of the innovations.

Automatic updating of Chrome is promised in the next few days. If you can't wait that long, click "About Google Chrome" in the Help menu. The browser will then realize it isn't up to date is and will suggest an upgrade.
