Zoom Customers of US electronics retailer Best Buy are affected by the Epsilon breach.
A security breach at marketing firm Epsilon, which sends emails to customers on behalf of various companies, has potentially exposed the email addresses of hundreds of millions of people. According to the Texas-based company, on 30 March, "an incident was detected where a subset of Epsilon clients' customer data were exposed by an unauthorized entry into Epsilon's email system".

While Epsilon hasn't confirmed which of its more than 2,500 clients are affected, a number of companies have already sent out messages to their customers advising them of the break-in. The leak is already confirmed to affect dozens of major companies, including electronics retailer Best Buy, Walgreens, grocery chain Kroger, TiVo Inc, hotel chain Marriott and the Home Shopping Network, as well as a number of banks, including Citi, US Bank, Barclays and Capital One.

Only email addresses and some customer names are said to have been exposed. A full investigation is reportedly underway.

Update: Epsilon has now confirmed that approximately 2 per cent of its total clients were affected.
