Microsoft plans to publish four updates next Patch Tuesday, 10th February. They will close holes in Internet Explorer 7, SQL Server 2000 and 2005, Exchange Server 2000, 2003 and 2007 and Visio 2002, 2003 and 2007. Microsoft classifies the holes in Internet Explorer and the Exchange server as critical, as they are both remote code execution issues. The Visio and SQL Server issues are classified as important, but also appear to involve remote code execution problems.

There will also be an update to Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool and to the junk filter rules for the spam filters from Vista Mail. Other updates include killbits for several ActiveX controls, to prevent their abuse by malicious web sites. The Patch Tuesday update will also include non-security updates for Windows Vista Media Center and its TVPack component.
