Microsoft lines up 12 updates for Tuesday

Microsoft Logo The updates will fix a total of 22 vulnerabilities in a range of products. Microsoft Security Response Center reports that the company is planning to fix a critical vulnerability in Internet Explorer which is triggered when processing crafted cascading style sheets. The bug was initially disclosed in late December.

There is also a patch to fix the thumbnail vulnerability in Windows' Graphics Rendering Engine – this was disclosed in early January. Microsoft says that it is also planning to resolve security problems with the FTP service in Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0 and 7.5.

Adobe has also announced updates for Adobe Reader X and Acrobat X (10.0) for Windows and Mac, and for Adobe Reader 9.4.1 for Windows, Mac and Unix, all for this coming Tuesday.
