From 6th December, Microsoft will stop supporting the SUS update server and will no longer supply the latest updates. Administrators who have not switched to the replacement product, Windows Server Update Services, by this date risk missing out on important security updates.

As with its predecessor, SUS, Microsoft provides the WSUS server for its server operating systems for download free of charge. WSUS 3.0, the next generation of the update server, is currently available as a beta version.
