Size doesn't always matter: In recent months, according to MessageLabs, smaller botnets such as Maazben have seen the largest amount of growth in sending sending spam.

F-Secure released version 3.11 of its Linux-based Rescue CD. New utilities include PhotoRec, TestDisk and smartmontools.

The RSA digital signatures used by Texas Instruments' calculators to authenticate firmware updates are apparently too short: 512-bits. The private keys have now been hacked and published online. TI responded by using the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to try have the keys removed.

Flickr's 8-byte API Key used to authenticate API requests from applications has been crackedPDF and posted online. Due to a vulnerability in the signing process, attackers can generate valid signatures.
