Hackers publish credit card data of Israeli internet users
Hackers have released the names, addresses and credit card information of thousands of Israelis. Most of the data appears to be from the popular Israeli sports web site One.co.il. Responsibility for leaking the cards was claimed by a unknown person claiming to be a member of the "Group-XP" hacking group, described as a Saudi-based Wahaabi hacking group.
Although 400,000 records were said to have been leaked, according to the credit card firms, only 14,000 records were actually valid. The cards, which were issued by Israeli credit card companies Isracard, Leumi Card and Cal, were blocked by the companies. In a statement, the Isracard CEO, Dov Kotler, said any customer who had money stolen as a result of misuse would be automatically compensated. Isracard, which has around 3.3 million Israeli customers, had around 6,600 cards exposed.
