GNU Compiler Collection 4.4 RC1 available
The GCC development team have announced the availability of a first release candidate for version 4.4 of their GNU Compiler Collection. The release candidate is intended for testing and includes improvements to all areas over the current stable release, version 4.3. The GNU Open Multi-Platform (GOMP) auto parallelisation code generation (autopar) has been merged with the Graphite framework for automatic parallelisation.
In the area of multi-threading, the release candidate complies with version 3.0 of the OpenMP specification for parallel programing with C, C++ and Fortran. The release also includes improved experimental support for the upcoming ISO C++ standard, C++0x.
