Fixpack 13 released by IBM for its WebSphere application server eliminates a number of vulnerabilities including a denial-of-service hole and a vulnerability of which the impact remains unknown.

The Apache Web server mod_proxy module supplied with WebSphere 6.1 contains a bug that could cause the server to crash. As far as the other vulnerability is concerned, IBM is playing its cards close to its chest. The manufacturer only notes that the Fixpack addresses security concerns for users with a "monitor role" in the administrator console.

Fixpack 13 for the supported platforms is available now for download from the IBM website. IBM has given the update recommended status.
