Firewall controls access to social networks

ZyXEL Logo Zyxel 's new ZLD 2.20 firmware version for firewalls in the ZyWall USG range controls the access to social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. It ensures that the endpoints in a LAN comply with security regulations (End Point Security) and hooks itself into Active Directory on a Windows network.

According to the announcement, the firmware supports the SSL VPN features of Windows 7, has an improved user interface (demo) and offers enhanced routing. It is also said to offer improved VoIP application handling. The update is available to download free of charge from Zyxel's homepage. The software runs on the ZyWALL USG models 100, 200, 300, 1000 and 2000.
