Email authentication comes to Google Apps customers
Source: Google
Google has announced that it now allows its "Google Apps" customers to sign their outgoing messages with DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) – the company has supported email-signing standards such as DomainKeys and DKIM since it launched Gmail in 2004. According to Google Enterprise Product Manager Adam Dawes, the move means that email sent by Google Apps customers is "less likely to get caught up in recipients’ spam filter".
The company says that by giving Google Apps customers the ability to sign their email using DKIM, it hopes that more email providers will begin to offer support for DKIM signing to help fight spam and reduce unwanted mail. Administrators for Google Apps accounts can enable DKIM signing via the "Advanced Tools" tab under the control panel. The DKIM signing service is provided at no extra cost.
