Cisco has released a free iPhone application that allows users to receive customised alerts on real-time security threats, new signatures and other information. The application, called Cisco SIO To Go, gets its information from the Cisco Security Intelligence Operations (SIO) system. According to Cisco security marketing director Michael Weir, the application is designed for professionals and security geeks, not average consumers.

In addition to the latest security alerts, the application lets users enter an IP address or Domain to determine a website or server's "Web Reputation score". Once a look-up is completed, the user is provided with a variety of information, such as the whois information for a site, the sites reputation score (i.e. Good, Neutral, etc.) and volume statistics for the domain.

The Cisco SIO To Go iPhone app is available to download (iTunes Link) from the iTunes Store and requires iPhone OS 3.0 or later.
