CeBIT: Secure VoIPing

Vendor snom is showing its snom 370 SIP based VoIP telephone in hall 13, stand D53/1 at CeBIT (the large trade show in Hanover, Germany), which, as well as improved voice quality and operation, also offers improved security. It supports the TLS encryption standard and SRTP (Secure Real Time Protocol), an extension to TLS, in order to frustrate any attempts to listen in. It should thus be suitable for professional use, including in security critical environments.

snom has also used the occasion of CeBIT to announce a partnership with firewall vendor Borderware. Their SIPassure SIP firewall should protect VoIP telephones from attacks.
