Adobe has released Flash Player updates 10.1.85.3 for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Solaris as well as 10.1.95.1 for Android. The updates are designed to fix a vulnerability which was disclosed last week and has already been exploited to infect Windows PCs. Adobe has said that update 9.0.283 will be made available to download for all those who still use the older version 9 of Flash Player. The update for Android is available from the Android Market. The player updates automatically on all other platforms, but Adobe is also offering a manual download feature for users who don't want to wait.

Adobe Reader and Acrobat 9.3.4 are also vulnerable on all supported platforms. However, Adobe says that so far, attacks exploiting the new hole have only been observed in connection with Flash Player. The release of an update for Adobe Reader and Acrobat is scheduled for the 4th of October. Until then, Adobe recommends using Microsoft's Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit (EMET) to protect Windows systems.
