How does it affect non-Windows systems? 03 October 2010 18:23
The Adobe security bulletins specifically mention Windows, Macintosh,
Linux, Solaris and Android, but it's unclear as to what effect it has
on non-Windows platforms.
The vulnerability could "... potentially allow an attacker to take
control of the affected system. There are reports that this
vulnerability is being actively exploited in the wild against Adobe
Flash Player on Windows. Adobe is not aware of any attacks
exploiting this vulnerability against Adobe Reader or Acrobat to
date."
Which platform was called out? Windows.
My guess is that it could at worst crash the application on
non-Windows platforms. In fact, I always wonder if they don't just
automatically include all platforms just to cover there bases.
