Hardly what we can call a model-student 22 January 2013 18:19
Scanning production servers without permission is rarely a tolerated
behavior. I don't remember in my entire IT experience an employer who
would have taken this lightly so why a college would act differently
?
If he was really eager to know if the vulnerability had been fixed,
just using the same test case that allowed him to discover it would
have spared him of all this trouble but, hey, what do I know, he was
a brilliant student who couldn't be bothered with that.
See how this article presents it here ? He was trying to "access" the
web application with a vulnerability scanner.
