Suggestion: Do not scan "Global" each time 12 November 2009 17:41
Hello folks,
As I was downloading updates for 4 languages, I noticed a rather
large inefficiency in the procedure: for each and every language, the
corresponding update/integrity check for the "global" (glb) of that
piece of software is checked irrespective of the fact that it has
already been checked. This is of course necessary if each language is
considered as a "standalone" unit, However, if multiple languages are
selected simultaneously (in my case, 4) it makes the procedure highly
inefficient. My suggestion would be to identify such a situation
(i.e.: when more than one language is downloaded) and not to check
global each and every time, only once per download session.
Cheers:
