Welcome to heise Security UK, a new website dedicated to computer security news, information and services for the UK. We strive to be the one security site you need, to stay up to date and ahead of the bad guys.

To achieve this goal we present here concise daily news about security bugs, patches and products, so that you can make sure you don't miss anything important. With our background articles we provide you the know-how, hands-on-experience and product details that are necessary for you to stay informed about the latest technologies in this fast changing area. And our services like the Browsercheck and Emailcheck explain attack vectors based on the web and email. These services will help you to find the right compromise between security and functionality; just secure enough, but without keeping you from getting your job done.

We also welcome reader feedback and expertise, and our discussion forums give you the opportunity to share your expertise and experience with others.

In addition to the content produced by our local staff, this new UK site will benefit from the resources and experience of its "mothership". Derived originally from the security content of the highly regarded c't magazine, the German security portal of heise.de has developed during the last three years to become the major source of security information for administrators, security professionals and power users in Germany. Its editors did this by convincing their readers of their high editorial standards, their expertise, reliability and independence. And that's what we aim to do in the UK.

If you want to stay informed about our activities, please visit again, or subscribe to our newsletter. This gives you a weekly summary of our news and background articles. And no – we wouldn't for a moment think of bothering you with anything else that you did not order or of selling your personal data to third parties.

We hope that you find this site of use, and that it helps keep you more secure in this world of viruses, DoS attacks, phishing, and so forth. If you have any comments about the site, please contact me at:
