phpMyAdmin 3.5 adds Drizzle and openGIS support

The phpMyAdmin developers have announced that phpMyAdmin 3.5.0 is now available. The latest version of the web-based database administration tool brings several interface improvements and support for the Drizzle database server. Drizzle is a 2008 fork of MySQL which reached general availability status a year ago.

Version 3.5.0 makes the administration application's interface more flexible by adding the ability to reorder columns and enabling the system to remember recently opened tables and their sort order. The execution of many database operations has been speeded up with AJAX effects, saving the application from performing a complete page reload when displaying results. The server status page has also been reorganised, and support for stored routines, events and trigger has been improved.

With this release, phpMyAdmin also includes support for openGIS which was added as part of Google's Summer of Code event last year.
