openSUSE Conference 2011 keynote speakers announced

The openSUSE project has announced the program and keynote speakers for this year's openSUSE Conference. Aimed at users, contributors and developers from both inside and outside of the openSUSE community, the third international conference will take place from 11 to 14 September 2011 in Nuremberg, Germany.

The opening keynote will be presented by Jos Poortvliet, the openSUSE community manager for SUSE, and SUSE Labs Director Vojtech Pavlik, after which attendees have a choice of four tracks. On the following day, Greg Kroah-Hartman, a Linux kernel developer and fellow at SUSE, will discuss Linux 3.0 in his keynote. On the third day of the event, Michael Miller, VP of Global Alliances & Marketing for SUSE, will give a keynote on "the future of the symbiosis of the new SUSE company and the openSUSE Project".

According to openSUSE Board Member Bryen Yunashko, more than 100 contributions have been scheduled to take place over the four day conference. Of the scheduled sessions, over 50 per cent will be interactive; these include BoF (Birds of a Feather), Workshop and Hack sessions.
