openSUSE 11.2 Milestone 4 released
The openSUSE developers have announced the release of the fourth milestone in the development of openSUSE 11.2, code named Fichte. The fourth milestone is one of a series leading up to the final version which is expected to be available in November.
The most important change from Milestone 3 is that the LiveCD version can now also be run from USB flash drives, which is especially handy for netbooks that don't include an optical drive. Milestone 4 includes version 2.6.30.2 of the Linux kernel, KDE 4.3 RC1 and Firefox 3.5. As with all pre-release versions, the developers advise that Milestone 4 is intended for testing and not for production use. A regularly updated list of the most annoying bugs can be found in the project's wiki.
More details about the release can be found in the change log. openSUSE 11.2 Milestone 4 is available to download for 32 and 64 bit x86 systems as a DVD or LiveCD image in the projects developer section.
