digiKam Logo The digiKam development team has issued version 1.7.0 of its open source digital photo management application. While the latest update to the image organiser doesn't add any new features, it addresses 35 bugs found in the previous release, including several issues that could cause the application to crash when, for example, modifying a tag name or saving plug-in changes. The developers have also released version 1.7.0 of the Kipi plug-ins, a maintenance update that adds two new features and fixes nearly 20 bugs, including several related to Facebook integration and to Picasa.

Further information about the update, including a full list of changes, can be found in the official release announcement. Version 1.7.0 of digiKam is available to download from the project's site and is licensed under version 2 of the GNU General Public Licence (GPLv2).
