Zend Logo Zend Technologies, a major contributor to the development of PHP, has announced the release of its Zend Server Cluster Manager, for extending Zend Server across large-scale PHP deployments. Zend Server is a complete package for implementing web applications via PHP that allows customers to, for example, monitor applications, diagnose problems and queue various jobs. According to Zend, the new Server Cluster Manager lets customers easily monitor and manage multiple instances of Zend Server, ensuring high availability and improved scalability of applications.

Zend Cluster Manager features support for session clustering, centralised configuration management and monitoring, and a web-based set-up and administration console. Additionally, Zend Server Cluster Manager supports PHP applications running on local servers and systems, or via cloud deployments.

Discussing the release, Zend VP of Products and Marketing Eldad Maniv said, “With Zend Server Cluster Manager, we’re responding to the needs of many of our customers who run large-scale PHP applications developed in-house or based on PHP projects, such as Drupal, Magento, Joomla!, and SugarCRM,” adding that, “Now they can manage multiple servers effectively with a failover solution that’s easy to scale, and meet performance and availability SLAs to get the most from their PHP deployments.”

More details about the release can be found in the Zend Server Cluster Manager data sheetPDF and online documentation. The cluster management technology will be available on an annual subscription basis and supports 32 and 64-bit versions of Linux and Windows XP SP2 or later.
