Expanded cluster and backup abilities will improve availability for Zarafa Collaboration Platform (ZCP) 7.1, which was recently released by Zarafa. The new version of the groupware solution does not include Zarafa Indexer, which was only introduced in version 7.0, as the feature's regular text analysis of mailboxes led to performance problems; instead, the new Zarafa Search now takes care of analysis.

Version 1.1 of Zarafa's WebApp, which includes support for Internet Explorer 9 and a new plugin framework, now serves as the web interface. For syncing, the groupware solution uses version 2.0 of Z-Push, the company's ActiveSync implementation, which supports ActiveSync14 and allows complete syncing of HTML mails. The integrated MySQL engine was updated from version 4.1 to 5.5.

Zarafa provides a documentPDF with a short overview of the updates in Zarafa Collaboration Platform 7.1; more detailed information can be found in the release notes and the change log.
