Version 1.0 of the free Yii PHP framework has been released. Yii runs under the BSD licence and has been developed strictly according to object-oriented programming criteria as a high-performance PHP framework for developing large-scale Web applications. The feature list includes MVC, DAO/ActiveRecord database layer, internationalisation and localisation, plus much more to help developers of Web 2.0 applications. Full details are available on the Yii project page.

Four new components have been added: CTabView, CStarRating, CUploadedFile and CFileValidator. The new version, which the project page announces as the first stable version, also contains some minor enhancements and a variety of bugfixes. The developers say they are committed to ensuring backward compatibility in future service packs.
