WordPress for Android 2.1 adds autosave feature
Version 2.1 of the WordPress for Android mobile application has been released with a number of new features, including a post autosave function that automatically saves in-edit posts every minute. According to the WordPress development team, the update to the open source mobile app now makes it easy for users to edit comments directly within the app. The new Edit screen allows users to modify the comment text as well as the name, email, url and status of the poster.
WordPress for Android 2.1 supports setting the width of linked images – users can enable this feature under "Settings" by selecting the "Upload and link to scaled image" check box. Other changes include various stability and performance improvements, a new app icon and updates to the Reader feature, which was added in version 1.5.0.
WordPress for Android 2.1 is available to download from Google Play, formerly known as the Android Market, as well as from the Amazon Appstore and BlackBerry App World for PlayBook. The app requires Android 2.1 or later, and supports both WordPress.com and self-hosted blogs running WordPress 3.0 or higher. Like WordPress, WordPress for Android is licensed under the GPLv2.
