The incubating Apache Wookie project has released version 0.10.0. Wookie, a widget deployment server for the web, is designed to host widgets that can be used in a container application such as Drupal, WordPress or Moodle. Created to host W3C Widget specification widgets, Wookie can also host OpenSocial and Google Gadgets. The containers can have plugins that allow their users to then pick widgets from a gallery and add them to their pages on the container application.

In version 0.10.0, the Wookie developers have moved API key management out to a text file on the server, added JSON support for most APIs, and improved the upload and download APIs. Other changes in Wookie have seen the Admin JSP application pages removed, replaced by a jQuery demo application and REST API or configuration files. Release notes are also available for further detail on the changes. Information on how to download and run the Java-based server is also available.
