Wine 1.3.33 improves support for HTTP proxies
The Wine project developers have released version 1.3.33 of Wine, the latest fortnightly development build. The update improves support for HTTP proxies and introduces support for text output in the DIB engine, part of the display subsystem. Aimed at developers, testers and early adopters, Wine 1.3.33 also includes a new version of the Gecko rendering engine and fixes for bidirectional text layout, as well as various other bugs.
Wine works by redirecting Windows system calls and library functions to appropriate Linux functions. This means that Wine is not a traditional or classic PC emulator but works as an API wrapper.
Version 1.3.33 of Wine is available to download from the project's site. Source code for Wine is hosted on SourceForge and is licensed under the LGPL. The Wine project is sponsored by CodeWeavers, which also shares its own code updates with the project. The current stable release of Wine is version 1.2.3.
