Wine 1.3.28 uses OpenGL renderer for DirectDraw
The Wine project development team has released version 1.3.28 of Wine, the latest fortnightly development version of what will eventually become Wine 1.4. In the new release, DirectDraw now defaults to the OpenGL renderer and, on UDF filesystems, support for volume information has been added.
Wine 1.3.28 also features an initial version of the Visual Basic Script (VBScript) parser, a device configuration dialogue in DirectInput and a number of command (cmd) parser improvements. Other changes include support for SetDIBitsToDevice in the DIB engine, automatic ("automagic") audio driver selection and fixes for various bugs. Users testing the release are encouraged to provide feedback and report any bugs that they find.
More details about this development preview, including a full list of bug fixes, can be found in the official release announcement and the shortlog. Aimed at developers, testers and early adopters, Wine 1.3.28 is available from the project's download page.
Hosted on SourceForge, Wine source code is licensed under the LGPL. The Wine Project is sponsored by CodeWeavers, which also shares its own code updates with the Project. The latest stable version is Wine 1.2.3, a bug fix update to the 1.2 branch, from mid-April.
