Wine 1.3.18 brings support for XI2 raw mouse events
Two weeks after Wine 1.3.17 implemented support for the file dialogues introduced in Windows Vista, the Wine project has announced the arrival of version 1.3.18, the latest development version for what will eventually become Wine 1.4.
Wine 1.3.18 features raw mouse events support using XInput2 (XI2) and the addition of support for mouse pointer clipping. According to the developers, the latest development release includes the first steps of a DIB Engine implementation and adds a new security tab in the internet control panel. Other changes include support for more properties in DXDiag, improved video playback on Mac OS X and various bug fixes.
As with all development releases, use of Wine 1.3.18 in production environments and on mission critical systems is not advised. Users testing the release are encouraged to provide feedback and report any bugs that they encounter.
Additional information, including a full list of changes and bug fixes, can be found in the release notes and in the shortlog. Wine 1.3.18 is available to download from one of the project's mirrors and documentation is provided. The latest stable version is Wine 1.2.3, a bug fix update to the 1.2 branch from earlier this month.
