The popular open source web analytics software Piwik has been updated to version 0.2.33. According to the developers, the release includes fixes for all outstanding bugs, 36 in all. The release also includes new translations for Danish, Greek, Estonian, Galician and Romanian users – bringing the total number of languages supported to 24. Users are encouraged to contribute by volunteering their time to work on beta-testing, translations or by reporting any problems they may experience.

Installed on a web server Piwik provides detailed reports on website visitors: the search engines and keywords used, the languages spoken, most popular pages and more. It aims to be an open source alternative to Google Analytics.

The developers objective for the release is to help pave the way for version 0.4 of Piwik, which includes plans for several new features. Upcoming planned additions include a multi sites dashboard and a modular Javascript API.

Piwik 0.2.33 is available to download and an online demo is provided. Piwik is released under the GNU General Public License (GPL).
