VirtualBox 4.1.6 fixes 3D support on Fedora 15

Version 4.1.6 of VirtualBox has been released. The third maintenance update to the 4.1.x branch of the open source desktop virtualisation application for x86 hardware improves its overall stability and addresses several issues found in previous builds.

VirtualBox 4.1.6 fixes a bug that prevented 3D acceleration from working on Fedora 15 guests and a rare issue that caused Windows 7 guests to hang when booting. The update brings further fixes for Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) on Windows 7 and Vista guests, and improves compatibility with older Linux kernel versions. The Linux, Solaris, Windows and X.org Guest Additions have also received updates that, for example, improve detection of logged in guest users and stale sessions under Windows, and add directory, file mode and mask options for shared folders on Solaris.

Both the base Oracle VM VirtualBox product source code and the binary are licensed under the GPLv2, while the Extension Pack mechanism, which allows third-party sources to add their own add-on functionality, is licensed under the PUEL.
