The developers of Kdenlive have released Version 0.7 of their video editor. This is the first stable version for KDE 4, offering a slew of improvements over Kdenlive for KDE 3. For example, thanks to a rewrite of the communication with the MLT video framework, all timeline operations are now much faster and there are capture features for DV, HDV and webcams.

The developers have improved KDE communication and given Kdenlive more effects, transitions and a full undo function. Video rendering is now completely independent of the main application, which means you can safely work while rendering.

You can find links to complete packages for Debian, Mandriva and OpenSuse in the download area of the project page.

For users who want to translate Kdenlive from the source code, the developers have made a kommander script available to automate the process.
